- Format: Moderated Conversation & Interactive Q&A
Overture Maps uses OpenStreetMap as one of its primary data sources, and that relationship raises legitimate questions within the mapping community. What happens to OSM data when it is integrated into Overture? What are GERS IDs, and how do they connect information across disparate sources? How do OpenStreetMap’s flexible tags coexist with Overture’s structured data schemas? What about licensing and attribution?
In this conversation, José Macchi (Geospatial Tech Specialist) and Nora Anwar (Overture Maps Community Lead) will address these questions openly and directly. The session includes a 20-minute technical core followed by 12 minutes of open Q&A with the audience.
