The Overture Maps Foundation (OMF), an initiative formed by Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, and TomTom, today announced the release of its first open map dataset. The new release includes four data layers that include places of interest (POIs), buildings, transportation network and administrative boundaries.
The dataset released combines open source map data on over 59 million places worldwide, the group formed in 2022 along with map tech company TomTom said in a statement.
