This event is designed to bring the local CNG community together for an afternoon of demos, talks, and conversation. The intention of this event is for practitioners working in and around Japan to show off what they’re building, meet each other in person, and plug into the broader CNG network.

Come Build on Overture: A Collaboration Model for Innovation on Shared Infrastructure (16:05)

Speaker: Nora Anwar, Overture Maps Foundation

About this talk: Overture builds open and interoperable map data anyone can use. But the more interesting story is the structure around it: a shared pipeline that Overture maintain, and a task force model that lets members innovate on top of it. Overture is the catalyst and the container, where organizations come together to build things bigger than any one member. This talk shows how. In one collaboration, a group of Overture members use street-level, aerial, and satellite imagery to fix where place points actually sit, and pinned it to the shared ID so everyone benefits. Then we’ll look at what’s next: a 3D buildings task force in the works, and the Extensions task force, a standardized way to layer specialized data onto Overture’s shared map features, so anyone can add richness without waiting on the core. A direct way in to build on Overture. Whether you’re a data provider or a builder, there’s a place for you in this. Come build with us.

Register now and mark your calendar for the talk.
